What if there was an ancient world-spanning society of time-travelers that lived 18.000 years ago, at the end of Ice-Age and way before any known registry of civilization?
And what if they were walking around us today, collecting news, products, ideas, art and most of all information about how the demise of their civilization came to be?
That’s what the Madalia IP is based around, the Madalian Empire, a civilization ruled by one empress and her 10 queens while the emperor and their Kings are mysteriously away most of the year, ruling over millenia through the harvest and management of a liquid gold substance from outer-space that can control space and time.
This whole IP & “universe” was a created as a bible, a set of rules of sorts, like what George Lucas originally built with the Star Wars Extended Universe and with enough “space” for writers and creators to build within it.
- Squad 42: A full-body VR Multiplayer Experience for up to 5 people at the same time where they take the role as one of the members of Squad 42 and use a robot body to find “time-trails” on objects touched by time-travellers and use that to go further into the past to try and find the reason of the Empire’s demise.
- The Seekers of Haojing: A TTRPG where players take the role of Seekers, groups of adventurers hired by the Kingdom of Haojing (ancient name of Macau) to do missions all over the Madalian Empire, 18.000 years ago, as well as travelling through time to find people, items or even mutated creatures! All of it powered by a system that mixes Dice and Cards and an online Seekers Guild that releases missions for Seekers to compete in real-time for big in-game rewards.
- The Collector’s Daughter: the story of Lyra, the daughter of a time traveller stuck in our time and how she finds about the existence of Madalia, its mysteries and dark secrets. (an 8 episode series made for streaming)
- Thorkell the Immortal: the origin story of Madalia and its founder and “immortal emperor” Thorkell the Tall, a real-life Viking, that is ripped from his time and home by coming in contact with a mysterious liquid gold substance and how he learns to harness it and use it to explore, learn and rule over the biggest empire the world has ever seen. (a graphic novel & a series made for streaming)
